“Vuelo luego existo”, the new exhibition by Diana Coca in Casal Solleric.

I Fly, Therefore I am is the new exhibition by Diana Coca in Casal Solleric (Palma), curated by Mercedes Estarellas. The exhibition acts as a framework for reflecting on work by the artist Diana Coca between 2013 and 2019. During this period, an important change occurred in this complex artist’s work, made up of equal amounts of photography and performance art, and it is this change that we will focus on. The transition that Coca’s work underwent, both spatially and in time, during the above years will serve as the basis of this somewhat comparative descriptive analysis of the development of a complex discourse full of subtle nuances.

Diana Coca was born in Palma de Mallorca in 1977.
Artist and researcher, has a degree in Philosophy (UIB, Palma) and Bachelor of Arts with Honors, specialty in photography (University of Brighton), Master in Dance Research and Performance (CENART, Mexico) and PhD student in Humanities (UPF, Barcelona). She completed her training at International Center of Photography and Movement Research in New York. He holds numerous production and research residencies as Spanish Academy in Rome, Three Shadows Photography Art Center in Beijing, CaSa in San Agustín Etla (Oaxaca), TJINCHINA Project Space in Tijuana, MACBA, Fabra i Coats in Barcelona and La Casa Encendida de Madrid in collaboration with the Dance Hall of the University of Alcalá de Henares. She has shown her works in China, Korea, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Costa Rica, San Salvador, Guatemala, Morocco, Jordan, USA, England, Germany, Italy and Spain. Her work is part of national and international public and private collections.
